Memes of the Floating World LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Memes of the Floating World online shop. We are a Washington State-registered limited liability company. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from our shop, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. We keep the amount of information we collect to the minimum needed to run the shop.

Information we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, you provide your name, shipping address, and email address, and we keep a record of the items you ordered. If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence.
Payment information. Your card details are entered directly on a secure checkout page hosted by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles payment data on our behalf. See "Payments" below.
Information collected automatically. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. It gives us aggregate, anonymous statistics about page visits (such as which pages are popular) and does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites. Our hosting provider (Netlify) also keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, for security and to keep the site running.
Your shopping cart. The contents of your cart are stored locally in your own browser (using your browser's local storage). This is not a cookie and is not sent to us until you begin checkout.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Process, fulfill, and ship your order;
- Send you transactional emails about your order — an order confirmation and a shipping notification with tracking;
- Send you our newsletter, only if you ask us to by signing up — with news, new products, and occasional offers;
- Respond to your questions and provide customer support;
- Detect and prevent fraud, and keep the shop secure;
- Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Newsletter. We send marketing emails only to people who have opted in by subscribing. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time — we manage our subscriber list with Resend. Placing an order does not subscribe you. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you check out, your payment details are submitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection. Stripe is certified to the PCI-DSS security standard. We receive confirmation that your payment succeeded and limited order details, but not your full card number. Your payment information is handled under Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Who we share information with
We share your information only with the service providers that help us run the shop, and only as needed:
- Stripe — to process your payment.
- Resend — to deliver your order-confirmation and shipping emails.
- Netlify — to host the website and securely store order records.
- Cloudflare — for cookieless website analytics and security.
- Shipping carriers — we share your name and shipping address with the carrier that delivers your order.
Selling your info? We don't do that here
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property. We do not sell your personal information.
International customers
We operate from the United States, and the service providers above process data in the United States. If you order from outside the U.S. — including the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom — your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States in order to fulfill your order.
How long we keep your information
We keep your order records — including your name, shipping address, and order history — for up to 7 years to meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations, after which we delete or anonymize them. Payment information is handled and retained by Stripe under its own privacy policy, not stored on our systems. We keep email and other correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and for our reasonable business records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate;
- Ask us to delete your information;
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.
If you are in the EEA or UK, these rights are provided under the GDPR / UK GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA — note that we do not sell or share your personal information for advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email us at floatingworldmemes@gmail.com and we will respond as required by law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
Because our analytics are cookieless and payments happen on Stripe's own pages, our shop does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The only browser storage we rely on is the essential local storage that remembers your shopping cart on your device. For this reason, we do not display a cookie consent banner.
Children's privacy
Our shop is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We protect your information with industry-standard measures: the site is served over encrypted HTTPS, and payments are handled by Stripe's secure, PCI-compliant systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
